Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church

This is where Luke's baptism took place.

A garden path leads you to

the Stations of the Cross.

Someone said these graves were members of the family who donated the property.

Around Gualala

On a morning walk on the road which followed the Gualala River upstream.

Gualala River Redwood Campground

Cathedral Tree. There was one narrow opening you could step through

to see this.

Leaving town

Not happy that Grandpa is leaving so soon after arriving.

Still can't be cajoled into a smile.

A stop at Dick's brother's house in Dixon to borrow a cooler. Tom and Julie have the cutest garden.

The Farm

On our way out of town, we stopped at The Farm (14th St and Elkhorn Blvd, Rio Linda) for fresh tomatoes and watermelon to take with us.
The owner is very knowledgeable, gives samples,
and sells excellent peaches, pluots, nectaplums, cantaloupe (the best I've had in years),

tomatoes, squash,

and gigantic watermelons that were the "best you'll eat this season."

Learning about locks

He looked at our collected treasures/junk, all the cobwebs, potential mice, one step in and he was satisfied

Hurray for Doug!

This morning we drove to Walnut Creek so Doug could take the state certification exam to finish the final step to be a journeyman wireman electrician. Four hours, 100 multiple choice questions.  (Meanwhile, the boys and I drove to San Francisco to pick up Grandpa Dick at the airport.  He's home!)

Congratulations! He passed.

On the way home, we stopped at the union hall so he could sign the books.  #313.  Next up: a call and a job. We're all excited. I'll keep you posted.
