In the slings

Here we go, with fingers crossed.  The TravelLift approaches:
Slings being attached while Orasio, holding the remote control box, supervises along with the captain:
Up, up, just enough to pull away the support stands.  We will hang here for about 24 hours so Dick can paint the spots where the support stands used to be.
Between coats of paint, we walked up to a nearby taco stand for lunch:
Since the paint was still tacky, Dick sat down to drink a big coffee before applying the second coat.  Meanwhile I'm wondering how I'm going to get onto the boat after climbing those rickety steps later this afternoon.
Thomas Jefferson once said, "I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it." Let this be true. After three years of working on the boat in Guaymas, we are on the brink of starting a sailing life.

  2. Thanks, Darren. We are very excited to begin the next phase of our adventure. Still a bit more work to do when we're on the water, but soon, very soon ...
