Today I did most of the climbing, but the weather was cool and the grade was mild. This area is called Wet Mountain Valley:
When Dick took over, he finished the last 3 miles to the top of an unnamed pass, then flew downhill hill for the next 30 miles. It went a bit slower as he approached Pueblo, there were more big "rollers" to deal with. At one point, Dick thought he was being chased by the biggest dog he'd ever seen, he pedaled harder but the "dog" kept up and passed him. It was a deer.
The campground at Lake Pueblo was full so we drove a few miles north on I-25 to a KOA. One of those times when it's nice to have a car. Beautiful sunset tonight and then I turned around
to see an equally beautiful moonrise.
This turned out to be one of the noisiest campgrounds so far. I-25 is 100 yards away, so are some busy train tracks who must blow their whistles are the road crossings, and because it's Saturday night, the sprint cars are roaring around a track just on the other side of the freeway.
Miles = 1654
