We woke up to the pitter-patter of rain on our tent, but it stopped long enough for the tent to dry out before packing it up. Just 4 miles to the top of Wauconda Pass and doing it with fresh legs really made a difference, although it did start sprinkling again. Pass #4 of 5 conquered!

16 miles of downhill on a rough road followed and we were in Republic.

Tonight we stayed with Warmshowers hosts, DiAnne and Boyd. DiAnne is an aspiring bicycle tourist and has done many tours on the Kettle Valley Railway, 600 kilometers of multi-use trails in British Columbia. The nearest access from Republic is just 21 miles from Republic in Curlew. If you want to know more, go to
http://www.kettlevalleyrailway.ca/.
We had the best dinner. In addition to wild rice and salad, Boyd barbecued salmon he caught himself in the Okanogan River. Yum!
Miles completed = 396.
