Rio Linda weekend events

The Church is located on Dry Creek Road.  The Royers live here and farm about 13 acres.  Long ago, I taught two of their children in the GATE program.

They sell  produce, pies, and pickles at a nearby stand.  Mr Royer is also the pastor of the church.

My favorite vendor.  Tony lives in Rio Linda.  His father lives in Rosarito Mexico and  makes all the stone and welded metal creatures which Tony sells at local craft fairs at amazingly low prices.  I couldn't resist buying a few insects.

On to stop #2.  It was customer appreciation day at the hardware store.

Old friends.  Ed Valencia from the very active local Lions Club.  Ed and Dick were very good friends in high school.

Loren Joachim, owner of Rio Linda Hardware.  Loren and I both grew up on chicken ranches in Rio Linda.  In fact, Loren was the first boy I ever held hands with (7th grade, 4-H camp, about 51 years ago).  And good friend, Joyce Buckland, who caught me up on all the changes in the Rio Linda/Elverta Historical Society over the past 5 years.

  1. It's good to see some of our friends. Ed seems to be taking up the role of Don Edwardo.
