Knitting & crochet exhibit

Despite the rainy cold weather (what's going on? it's June, this is California), sister-in-law Carolyn, her friend Jan, and I made our way to the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles:

The lobby:

The eleven artists selected for this exhibition push the boundaries of knitting and crochet "techniques to create graphic abstractions, sculptural objects, and large-scale architectural pieces."

English Garden (crocheted coated copper wire) by Arline Fisch:

Hibiscus (hand-knit and anatomically correct) by Tatyana Yanishevsky:

A Sum of its Parts: 4 in 2 halves is equal to 1 (crocheted continuous fiberglass roving coated with polyester resin) by Yvette Kaiser Smith:

The exhibit featured 11 artists and many more works of art. If you would like to see the entire exhibit, let me know and I will send you a link to a Picasa web album.
