Dick, Darren and Haruka left La Paz and sailed/motored into the Sea of Cortez to head south. Darren's father, George, in Australia, received following sat phone message at 12:30 today:
"big swell last night but OK, today nothing, motoring now, 11.9 nautical miles N of Cabo San Lucas, may stay night, no immigration, just go"
Later in the afternoon, Dick called me from Cabo San Lucas. Dick's last watch was 12 midnight-4 am, with big winds and difficult steering, but by 9 am, it was flat calm. The final two hours before reaching Cabo was great: 10 knots wind, 7 knot boat speed, flat seas. That's what we like to hear.
They plan to head westward tomorrow. Bon voyage, fair winds.
