Rest Day

A few good reasons to stay here today: tired legs, 70% chance of rain, HEADwinds at 18 mph gusting to 25 mph. Clay from Minneapolis, heading west, this is your day to fly.

Across the street from the campground and behind the local mall, you can visit a buffalo jump called Wahkpa Chu'gn (walk-paw-chew-gun). From Wikipedia: "a buffalo jump is a cliff formation ... hunters herded the bison and drove them over the cliff, breaking their legs and rendering them immobile. Tribe members waiting below closed in with spears and bow to finish the kills." Wahkpa chu'gn overlooks the Milk River and was used from 600-2000 years ago. It is now an archaeological site and tours are available.
