Rest Day

Last night 32 French teenagers and 4 adults arrived. They set up 9 tents and it took quite a while for them to settle down for the night. We think it's time to move on even though we'd like to take a second rest day.

This is the map section we just finished with the elevation profile at the top. We crossed over 18 summits, 7 of them above 7000 feet.

Coming up, map section 3.  Fewer summits to cross on our way to Dolores CO, but the first one is over 10,000 feet.  It will be 4000 feet of climbing in the first 26 miles on roads with little or no shoulder and LOTS of traffic.  If it's not safe, we will use the car.
